A home inspection is a limited, non-invasive examination of the condition of a home, often in connection with the sale of that home. Home inspections are usually conducted by a home inspector who has the training and certifications to perform such inspections.
As your home inspector, we review a home’s visible and accessible areas to identify any health and safety problems, the condition of the property and any conditions that need further and possibly specialized attention. An inspection includes structural elements such as the roof, foundation, walls, windows, doors, insulation, basement or crawlspace and attic. Electrical, plumbing, heating and cooling systems are also part of a home inspection. It can even include examination of appliances and should also report any evidence of termites. Once the home inspection is complete, we provide a written, comprehensive report detailing any issues with the home.
The Process
- Once the home inspection is confirmed, we will send out a contract that will need to be signed and returned prior to, or on the day of, the home inspection.
- The home inspection process usually takes two to three hours, during which time the house is examined from the ground up. It includes observation and, when appropriate, operation of the plumbing, heating, air conditioning, electrical, and appliance systems, as well as structural components, such as the roof, foundation, basement, exterior and interior walls, chimney, doors and windows.
- Once the home inspection is complete, we are more than happy to sit down and go over the inspection with you to answer any questions. If you are not in the area, we are also able to have a simple phone call or email to discuss any questions you may have.
- You will receive a comprehensive report within 1–3 business days.
- If not paid up front, an invoice for the agreed upon cost will be sent out.
